Cover and Interior Design
Equal parts art and science, a book's design is no joke! Your editor will hand your manuscript to your designer and say "Please make it pretty," and your designer will do so, guaranteed. Your designer will take all of your notes and wishes into consideration, then work to make your cover and interior what you dreamed!
What does cover design entail?
We hate to break it to you: People DO judge books by their covers. #coverporn is a thing for a reason. You can't skimp on the cover when you've worked so hard on the contents. A cover design includes the front and back covers, the spine, and dust flaps (for dust jackets only). Your designer can use photographs you provide (if you own the rights to them), illustrations, or stock imagery to create the cover of your dreams that matches the tone of your book.
What does interior design entail?
No, we're not going to recommend what color throw pillows will accent your curtains best. Your designer will lay out your book to meet our printer's specifications. This includes fun accoutrements like a title page to match your cover, chapter headers, section break doodlies, and more! It also includes a lot of technical elements like margins, fonts, and ye ole copyright page.
